Currently, we are recruiting for an Administrative Secretary position in our Member Services Department. This position will provide administrative support for a large utility customer service operation. The successful candidate will possess a professional, service-oriented attitude towards co-workers, managers, and customer. The successful candidate thrives on a productive, fast-paced work environment, and possesses a high degree of skill in the operation and use of computer-based office technology to make work flow more efficient and streamlined.

  • Word processes correspondence, memos, reports and statistical data for personnel in the Member Services (MS) Department. Occasionally prepares and/or edits routine correspondence or memos.
  • Operates personal computer with various work processing, databases and spreadsheet software. Organizes storage and retrieval of computer files. Answers telephone calls, screens and directs calls the appropriate parties; provides information to callers.
  • Logs the receipt and completion of consumer correspondence to facilitate a timely response by Association representatives.
  • Schedules meetings and appointments. Accesses the Association billing system to elicit information for correspondence and to assist with address changes.
  • Maintains current version of the Tariff, form letters, forms and Procedures Manual for use by all personnel within the Department.
  • As directed, attends meetings to take minutes, transcribes, finalizes and distributes to appropriate personnel.
  • Develops and maintains Department correspondence and employee information files.
  • Maintains Department petty cash fund.
  • As directed, prepares requisitions for supplies and equipment; inputs information on Associations PO:M system.
  • Provides office support to personnel within the MS Department.
  • Prepares Department vacation schedule form for circulation.
  • Schedules MS conference room.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Work is conducted in a standard office environment. Some overtime may be required.
  • HS diploma or equivalent required. Related college, business or secretarial courses preferred.
  • Four years of progressively responsible secretarial experience required, two of which must have been in an office environment providing secretarial services to a large number of people.
  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Required to type 60 net words per minute (typing tests will be scheduled at Chugach before an applicant progresses to an interview).

  • This position is subject to the terms and conditions of the Office & Engineering Personnel Agreement between Chugach Electric Association, Inc., and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1547.
