| Description: | Chugach Electric Association, Inc., Alaska largest eletric utility is recruiting for Temporary Maintenance Electricians for up to six months duration.
The Maintenance Electrician assists with installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical equipment at the Beluga Power facility.
You MUST have a dispatch from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 1547 to apply for this position.

The work location for one of these positions will be based at the Beluga Power Plant, with a base schedule of seven 12-hour days on and seven days off. The other position will be based in Anchorage and will be assigned to different power plant locations as needed to meet business needs. The base schedule for this vacancy is 5/8's but may vary depending upon location and workload.
This position is subject to the terms and conditions of the Generation Plant Personnel Agreement between Chugach Electric and the IBEW, Local 1547.

| Duties: | Desired Specific Skills & Experience
Industrial energy isolation and safe work practices.
Industrial power generators, exciters, and AVR�s.
Gas turbine ignition and flame
Medium voltage (4160VAC) transformer replacement, breaker testing and inspection.
Medium and high voltage buss inspection, silver plating, and assembly.
Industrial wiring modifications and repairs.
Programmable Logic Controllers.
RTD�s and TC�s.
Operate test equipment including multi-meters, meggers, breaker test sets, etc.
Remove, inspect, test, and re-install electrical equipment specific to industrial gas turbines and generators.
Read, interpret, and apply electrical, P&ID, and mechanical drawings.
Computer proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
Ability to complete assigned tasks independently and in coordination with others.
General electrical work
Bend rigid conduit, install cable trays and j-boxes, fabricate uni-strut support structures, pull wire, perform terminations, repair electric tools, install and repair lighting fixtures, panel inspections, install temporary welders, etc.
Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain
125VDC battery systems, battery chargers, inverters, and UPS�s
Industrial CO2, water deluge, and balance of plant fire systems
Inspect, service, and replace
DC motors and brushes
Overhead crane operation (maintenance and repair)
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair
480VAC MCC buckets; CB�s, contactors, and O/L�s
AC and DC ground faults
HVAC
Install and test
480VAC 3-phase motors

| Qualifications: | Associates degree in Power Plant Electrical Generation plus one year actual experience as a Maintenance Electrician in an industrial maintenance capacity required.
Recognized industry schools and two years as a Power Plant Electrician may be substituted.
Must possess a current Alaska State Certificate of Fitness for Journeyman Electrician.
Must have working knowledge of high voltage equipment and maintenance.
